Timer

A timer to pause and unpause the picture capturing would be great. For example: I want to make a time lapse of a landscape for several weeks or month. it is not necessary to take photos at night, a timer to enable the capturing daily form 6 am to...

Schedule

When will the pay version be availabel? Could it include a way to schedule when the recordings take place. i would like to record a construction project. It will only be weekdays and during daylight hours, so it would be nice to be able to...

We don't have a date for the release of the paid version yet but we are working on it. We hope to be able to release it asap.

No, scheduling won't be available in the upcoming release yet.

The app currently continues to record even when the screen is locked.

white balance

Hey guys - nice product. Is there any chance that a daylight white balance / lock can be added to the app? When I take multiple pics on the same day, they are all different white balances, would love to be able to lock this. Thanks
Response from the site administrator
portable, 18.05.2015
We are considering what camera related features we should add in the next version. White balance could be one of them if you think it will be useful but I am not sure if it will achieve what you are after...

Low resolution and time OSD

Why the resolution is on 640x480? 800x480? Too low. How to remove time on the photo? The shutter is still sound even if the volume is zero
Response from the site administrator
portable, 14.07.2012
The current 0.1 version of the 24/7 Time Lapse app is limited to 1.9MP, 1600x1200 photos. Sufficient for you to make 1080p time lapse video. It is probably related to your phone if you only see 800x480. In any case, both the photo resolution limit and time stamp on the photo will be customizable in the paid version of the app which we are still developing.

save to ftp on the fly

besides letting it operate while charging, it would be cool the let it save the images to an ftp folder.
Response from the site administrator
portable, 03.05.2012
This is already on our roadmap but will be implement in a more user friendly way than simple ftp transfer.

Suggested Phones/Tablets

I'm currently using a Motorola Droid 1 and it works great, but the camera makes clicking sounds each time it takes a picture. I'd be interested in picking up a used phone to replace this one, but I'd love some suggestions from your team on models...

Add HDR support

My experience with timelapse photography of landscapes is that HDR makes a huge difference, especially in mornings and evenings when part of the landscape may be in the sun and the rest in shade. It also helps with bright skies or white clouds in...

Enabling capture on LG G4

Folks, I installed the pro version of 24/7 Time Lapse on an LG G4. When I run the software, I can find no way to enable photo capture. The camera icon does nothing, the Photo widget overlaid on the home screen does nothing. Am I missing...

From your description, I would say your phone is incompatible with the way we achieve power saving for taking photos. Unfortunately, you are the first person reporting such behaviour and we have no idea what the problem is. If you enable the logging in the app and post the log inside, maybe we can tell what is going on.

Any other time lapse photography app on would most likely work for your phone because none of them tries to save power the way 24/7 timelapse does.

can't turn sound off

Hi, i'm running 247 on a Samsung Galaxy Mini II, equipped with Gingerbread 2.3.6 , kernel 2.6.38.6-1214151 dpi@DELL146#1 , Build XXLK2 , i simply just can't turn the shutter sound off, not even when i turn the global device volume off, i always...
Response from the site administrator
portable, 04.03.2013
Actually, the sound is already turned off by default. Can you try other app and see if they can turn off your shutter sound too? It is possible that this is a ROM related problem rather than this app itself. Or would you be do a DDMS log when you use this app and hear the shutter sound?

white balance

it would be nice to have some sort of control over the white balance (IE, NOT "Auto") to achieve consistency in the color of the whole timelapse thank you

No fix currently available without compromising power saving. We believe this only affect Samsung i9192 S4 mini as we did not receive reports from other users. Possibly a bug related to the device's ROM, might be fixed when the device's ROM is updated.

Only white photos when put in background

When I put the application in background (by pressing the home button), all captured pictures from this moment on are white. Only the imprinted information for battery, time, date is visible. My phone is LG-D325.

Set hourly offset

There are already suggestions for comprehensive scheduling, which would be wonderful. It also would be nice to be able to say "every hour on the half hour", so like 12:30pm, 1:30pm, 2:30pm, etc. I have multiple cameras that are capturing...

Is it possible to shoot every second instead of 5

Is it possible to shoot every second instead of 5 seconds?
Response from the site administrator
portable, 22.08.2015
Not in the current version. We are considering to allow this in future version BUT doing so will not achieve any power saving at all. This means your phone will run out of power in about 6 hour or so and it will become fairly warm. In other words, you can do this now using alternative time lapse applications.

Please try version 0.3 and see if this is what you are after. We have added an option to rotate the screen 180 degrees.

Fix Autofocus

Is there any way to fix autofocus after it is set? because having the camera focus before every picture will make the timelapse flicker. Setting the focus to infinity does not work, because in most situations the picture will be out of focus.
Response from the site administrator
portable, 11.01.2016
Fixed focus option is already available along with infinity, auto-focus, etc though it is not the manual focus I believe you are looking for. The reason is that this cannot be achieved with existing API, see http://stackoverflow.com/questions/23272806/set-camera-focus-at-controlled-fixed-distance-on-android

If you don't see the option, it most likely mean your phone do not supports it.

Images Not Found

Response from the site administrator
portable, 24.07.2016
We had purposely block gallery app from indexing the photos from 24/7 Timelapse because it will cause problems to the user when the app take thousands of photos. This block is done by a blank file labelled .nomedia. You can find the photos under the 247timelapse folder. If you don't see the photos on your phone using Windows after you connect USB, try rebooting your phone or use app like Airdroid. Recent photos not appearing via USB is a known "bug" on many Android phone. Anyway, will provide an option to remove the .nomedia file in the next version, 0.3.2.

We have released a new version on Android market today which will allow you to use your charger for 20min. Please download the new version. Enjoy and thanks for your support.

We will release a paid version without this charger limitation shortly. At the mean time, you can use Dailyroads Voyager which can also work in the background to take photo/video. However, Dailyraods Voyager does not have the power saving feature implemented, so you will see your battery drain up pretty fast.

Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 doesn't record with screen off.

It starts recording, but when screen is turned off, it stops recording. Love the app. Captured lovely clouds over Maine cove. Am now trying to record 12 hours of our 12 foot tides in the same cove.

Off-grid solar charged web feed with smart phone

Remove 20 minutes limitation

It is not right to leave a 20 minutes limitation there but not having any option to remove it. Simple question, if it is claimed as a feature in paid version. where is it?
Response from the site administrator
portable, 26.10.2013
There is no 20 min limitation in the lite version of this app, the 20 min limitation is only applied when you connect your device to the charger. If you are not connected to charger, you should be able to run it till your battery runs out. Paid version will not have this limitations.
