Enabling capture on LG G4

Folks,

I installed the pro version of 24/7 Time Lapse on an LG G4. When I run the software, I can find no way to enable photo capture. The camera icon does nothing, the Photo widget overlaid on the home screen does nothing. Am I missing something, or is this an incompatable system? If so, please suggest alternative software for photos, rather than video.

From your description, I would say your phone is incompatible with the way we achieve power saving for taking photos. Unfortunately, you are the first person reporting such behaviour and we have no idea what the problem is. If you enable the logging in the app and post the log inside, maybe we can tell what is going on.

Any other time lapse photography app on would most likely work for your phone because none of them tries to save power the way 24/7 timelapse does.

Happy to help, love to have it work. Where is the log file stored? I enabled the option, but in the 247timelapse folder there are only empty photo folders. Is there another location?

I'm having trouble finding other time lapse programs. I'd like to do long exposure (at least the 30 seconds the G4 offers) and get photographs, not only video. Lots of options but the combination seems troublesome to find.

The log file is a text file in the 247timelapse folder.

Try Dailyroads Voyager, it has exposure settings.

Thanks for the responsiveness. The storage/emulated/0/247timelapse folder does not contain a log file. Perhaps that can tell you how far along the program is getting? The folder includes three subfolders that begin with today's date (such as 20150923110324_100000_Photo), and a file that is named .nomedia which appears to be empty.

You need to enable logging before you will see the log file. Logging is disabled by default!! There is a logging setting inside the app.

Yes, I had done that. I now know that the log was being written to the SD card, in a path I had selected in the settings. In that folder were perhaps 75 subfolders like the one I cited ... me pushing the buttons like mad I suppose. The log follows.

This obvioiusly indicates the camera settings used failed.

I am guessing the problem is the camera resolution you selected, 2688x1512. Did try you to use a different camera resolution?

If not that, try change the camera focus mode, you are using infinity focus mode by default which should work on all the phones. Maybe your camera does not support it?

Thanks for the thoughts. No go though. I set resolution to VGA (640 x 480) and it didn't change the outcome. That should widely supported. I set the focus to the other choice, "auto" and the problem remains. The mystery deepens ...

Try a few different resolution, the lowest does not necessarily works. I had such problem before on a Samsung Tablet, the lowest resolution does not work.
