Widget ...

How to get rid of that irri widget???

After use of 24/7 that widget popsup and blocks every screen (every). I have no menu at all within 24/7 but only buttons for capture and files. So i wonder where to find any settings? Can one turn off that widget definitely if one had any menu?

Thanks

The setting to disable the widget has always been there. Inside the app, Menu -> Settings -> Background mode -> Untick the button you don't want to see. Press the Android menu button to access the menu options or the three vertical dot if your phone don't have menu button.

Thanks,

I found the menu outside the app. There i could activate the Exit button which now shows up in the widget. So now i can close the widget within the widget.

I propose to have the menu inside the app. And to have a setting whether or not one wants that widget activated.

You should NOT use the exit button unless you want to terminate the application.

I think you must be an Iphone user. All Android users know how to call the menu button, on Android 4.x phone, it is already already on the screen showing up as three vertical dots!!

Sorry but this is not something that is user friendly.

Hee portable,

This was and is all and only about exiting the app. So therefore i asked where to find the menu since it is not inside the app. Why are there 2 buttons inside the app (as i wrote) but not for the menu?

I can asure you that this is really the one and only app i have on my android phone where the menu is outside the app. And where a widget turns on when i close the app. Also on my winphone are no apps where i could not find the menu inside the apps.

I tested about 27 android timelapse apps and had to reject already 21 of them. I simply compare them to the straight forward app Time-lapse Cam for win. Of the 6 that are left i will not test 3 apps because they produce the maximum shutter noice regardless of the volume setting.

The good news is that i could write you the names of the 24 apps you should to my opinion not use. And the names of the 3 left for me, where 24/7 is also still there.

After 4 years Win6 phone (yes W6), 1 year Win8 phone and 3 months android phone my conclusion is that most android stuff is a real mess. I mean the apps functionally and the rights they claim. Why should i.e. a timelapse app read my contacts??? But i am in the (industrial) programming business only since 1979 so i am still learning.

Please think before talking about userfriendly...

I guarantee you the menu button is already there!!!
If you can't find it, it is not our fault, it is simply a matter that you don't know how to press the menu button in your Android phone!!

Take a look at this screenshot on Play market taken on Android 4.x phone. Can you see the three vertical dot there just below the clock?

If you are using Android 2.3, there is always a hardware menu button on your phone and the three dots won't show up.

I cannot open that link since i get the question if i want to safe it or open it as a file.
But if you mean the 3th screenshot in the appstore?

I can assure you that that screenshot was the reason why i re-installed the 24/7 app. Since i did and do not have that inside menu...

Have a look at this picture of the 24/7 app on my 4.2.2 phone;

www.sieverink.nl/247menu.html

No vertical dots menu, and thats (also) what i mean with the android mess. Don't take this personnaly since i mean android system and the androids phone builders. Everyone is able to create his own versions, changes, rootkits en partly blocked menus etc. I suppose that my android has or has not some "features" that you didn't notice. And that don't fit the 24/7 app.

I would be very pleased with the inside menu. But don't think that i am wrong in this situation. An android phone is just a phone but not always just a phone. It is also sometimes a guess. And i am only yhe pianoplayer...

The 24/7 app works fine i think, only not for the inside-menu on my (my) phone. I suggest to stop this discussion since we (to my opinion) both are right.

If the three dots doesn't show, then I am 100% sure your phone will have a hardware menu button. Having this button is a requirement for Android OS. You cannot use Android OS without this menu button.

Without knowing what phone and Android OS you are using, I can't help any further than I have already done.

There are app around that can be used to call this menu button but I don't think that is a practical way to do it.

Please also make sure you reboot your phone as well.. Too many people don't reboot their phone for weeks/months and blame the app when they run into problems.

Hi guys,

I bought your app and it is great, I am planning to take photos in a remote spot with no gprs and wifi connection! Can you suggest, according to your test, the best combination of
1. android smartphone (brand and model, must have flash)
2. power bank (extra battery, brand and model)
3. Solar charger (brand and model)

location: barcelona, spain

Thanks a lot!

If you are not in a hurry, we are almost ready to submit new version of 247timelapse to market.

1) Actually, almost all phone will work just fine if you have install Wake Lock app and enable partial wake lock. You won't need to use Wake Lock app in our new version 0.3.

For now, any phone that does not have mechanical lens should do because the current version will result in physical movement of your camera lens for every shot, wasting power and may result in problems due to repeated lens movement. I mean do NOT use any phones similar to Samsung S4 zoom.

2/3) If you have a solar panel, you probably don't need power bank. Otherwise, you need to buy a solar panel and power bank that works together... Normal power bank does not work with solar panel.

3) Buy a 5V USB port solar panel with around 5W power output will be most ideal. Ideally, the panel should have a chip that will ensure fixed 5V output. I know most solar panel on ebay doesn't have such chip.. but I have purchased panel that does. Feel free to PM me to discuss more on this or use a different thread than this. This thread is actually talking about something else.
